Quppy and Revolut both put everyday money and crypto in one app, but they are built differently. In the EEA, Revolut accounts are provided by Revolut Bank UAB, a bank licensed by the European Central Bank; Quppy is a software platform that connects you with named, regulated providers. When comparing Quppy vs Revolut, ask which set-up matches what you actually do with your money.
Information about Revolut is taken from its official website as of October 2026 and may change; check its current terms before you decide.
Key takeaways

Regulation: a bank versus a software platform
Revolut's website states that Revolut Bank UAB is a bank established in Lithuania, licensed by the European Central Bank and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania, and that it provides credit, payment, current account and demand deposit account services. Revolut also says eligible deposits are insured by the Lithuanian deposit insurance scheme. In the UK, Revolut's site names Revolut Bank UK Ltd, authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority. For crypto in the EEA, Revolut names Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd, licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission as a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) under MiCA, and ESMA's interim MiCA register lists it as authorised. Revolut also notes that crypto is not covered by investor compensation schemes.
Quppy works differently. QUPPY EUROPE OÜ provides the software and the app, and does not claim to take deposits, hold a banking licence or hold a MiCA authorisation itself. Regulated services come from named providers: crypto custody, exchange and transfers in the EEA from Payhound Limited, a CASP authorised under MiCA by the Malta Financial Services Authority, and euro SEPA processing from 2PAYAPP LIMITED. Quppy does not take deposits as a bank or offer deposit insurance. You can read the full breakdown in Is Quppy a bank? and check any provider yourself with how to verify a provider.
If deposit insurance on your euro balance matters to you, that points to Revolut. Both apps offer crypto through an authorised MiCA provider in the EEA, and neither MiCA authorisation protects you from price falls. Our guide on whether your crypto is safe under MiCA explains what the regulation does and does not cover.
Accounts, transfers and crypto
Currencies. Revolut says you can hold and exchange money in 30+ currencies, with currency conversion subject to fair-use limits that depend on your plan. Quppy Personal supports EUR and GBP today. USD, local European IBANs and local payment methods are listed as coming soon, without a launch date.
Transfers. Quppy supports SEPA Standard and SEPA Instant for euros, and Faster Payments and CHAPS for pounds where enabled for your account. Quppy charges no transfer fee on currently supported EUR and GBP transfers; exchange, crypto and network costs are separate. One limitation matters a lot for UK users: incoming GBP payments are not currently available, so you cannot yet receive a sterling salary into Quppy. Revolut's fees and allowances differ by plan (Standard, Plus, Premium, Metal and Ultra), so the fair comparison is its published fees page for your plan and country, not a single number. See which EUR and GBP routes Quppy supports.
Crypto. Revolut lists 300+ tokens, staking, and exchange fees "from 0%" depending on plan and trading volume. Quppy supports a deliberately short list: BTC on Bitcoin, ETH and USDC on Ethereum, and TRX on TRON. USDT is available only outside the EEA, and Solana support is coming soon. The Quppy crypto wallet is custodial, and you can send to and receive from external wallets on supported networks. Before each exchange, Quppy shows the rate, the amount you receive and any costs; it does not publish one universal crypto fee. More detail is in which crypto-assets and networks Quppy supports.
Cards. Revolut offers debit, credit and virtual cards, with some cards limited to paid plans. Quppy cards are coming soon and you can only join a waitlist. Quppy also does not currently support adding money or withdrawing to a bank card.
When Revolut fits better
Revolut is the stronger choice if you want any of the following:
- a bank account with deposit insurance on eligible balances;
- a card you can use today, physical or virtual;
- many currencies for travel or spending abroad;
- a wide crypto selection, staking, or other products such as savings and credit;
- a UK account from Revolut Bank UK Ltd, if you live in the UK.
These are real advantages, and on breadth Quppy does not currently match them.
When Quppy fits
Quppy is built for a narrower job: moving between euros, pounds and major crypto-assets inside one app, with the provider for each service named up front.
It may suit you if you:
- mainly need EUR and GBP, and want no Quppy transfer fee on supported SEPA, SEPA Instant, Faster Payments and CHAPS transfers;
- want to buy or sell BTC, ETH or USDC with euros and send the result to a bank by SEPA, as in our guide to buying crypto with euros by SEPA;
- prefer a custodial wallet with support-led account recovery rather than managing your own keys;
- want to check each provider yourself: the Trust Center lists the legal entity, regulator and role for each service.
Availability is set service by service, so check what is open in your country before you sign up.
Using Quppy and Revolut together
You do not have to choose one. A common pattern is to keep salary and card spending in a bank account, send euros to your Quppy IBAN by SEPA when you want to buy crypto, and send euros back after you sell. Use transfers in your own name, keep records for tax, and expect your bank may ask where crypto proceeds came from. Our article on crypto and euros in one app walks through the steps.
