Can my business receive merchant settlement payouts through Quppy?

Eligible online and offline merchants may be able to use approved Quppy Business account details to receive settlement payouts from acquiring banks, payment service providers, payment facilitators, marketplaces or card-acquiring platforms. The flow requires Quppy/provider approval and acceptance of the account details by the merchant’s settlement provider. Account approval does not guarantee that every acquirer will accept the proposed details.

What is a merchant settlement payout?

It is a payout made to a merchant after customer transactions have been processed. The amount can be net of processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, reserves or other deductions under the acquiring or platform agreement.

Which settlement sources may be supported?

Subject to approval, account details may be used for payouts from:

  • acquiring banks;
  • payment service providers;
  • payment facilitators;
  • card-acquiring platforms;
  • marketplaces or commercial platforms;
  • other approved settlement counterparties.

What information can be requested during onboarding?

A merchant may need to provide:

  • company and beneficial-owner information;
  • product or service description;
  • websites and physical locations;
  • acquiring or PSP agreements;
  • processing and settlement statements;
  • expected monthly volumes;
  • average and maximum transaction values;
  • refunds, chargebacks and reserves;
  • customer and operating countries;
  • settlement currencies;
  • source-of-funds evidence.

Can I receive from multiple acquirers or PSPs?

Possibly. Each settlement source must be consistent with the approved profile. Virtual IBANs may help separate incoming flows by provider, website, store, project or legal entity.

Will every acquirer accept the account details?

No. Each acquirer or platform can apply its own requirements concerning beneficiary name, country, currency and account identifier. Confirm acceptance before changing settlement instructions.

What can I do after receiving a settlement?

Subject to the approved account configuration, the business may hold supported balances, exchange currencies, pay suppliers or contractors and transfer funds to another approved destination. The settlement must remain consistent with the declared business activity and provider terms.

Does Quppy provide card acquiring?

No. Opening a Quppy Business payment account does not by itself enable a merchant to accept card payments. Card acceptance, authorisation, processing, refunds, disputes, chargebacks and reserves are handled under a separate agreement with an acquiring bank, PSP, payment facilitator or another acquiring provider. Quppy Business may provide approved account details for receiving the resulting settlement payouts.

What is the difference between merchant settlement and card acquiring?

Card acquiring is the service that enables a merchant to accept and process customer card payments. Merchant settlement is the later payout of processed funds from the acquirer, PSP or platform to the merchant. Quppy Business may provide approved account details for receiving settlement payouts, but the business payment account does not itself provide card acquiring.

What is a virtual IBAN?

A virtual IBAN is an account identifier linked to an underlying account arrangement and used to identify or reconcile incoming payments. It can be assigned to a customer, acquirer, store, website, legal entity, project, country or payment flow. A virtual IBAN does not necessarily constitute a separate bank account, and availability depends on the approved Quppy Business configuration.

How can virtual IBANs help with reconciliation?

Virtual IBANs can help a business reconcile incoming payments by assigning a distinct identifier to an approved acquirer, customer, store, website, entity, project or payment flow. When a payment arrives, the identifier can help the business associate it with the correct source. This can reduce manual matching, but it does not replace accounting controls, contracts or transaction evidence.
