If you're searching for a Crypto.com alternative, start with what each app is for. Crypto.com is a large crypto platform with hundreds of assets, a prepaid card and staking, while Quppy pairs a EUR and GBP account with a smaller custodial crypto wallet. Both let you buy, hold and send crypto in the EU through MiCA-authorised companies. Where they differ is how your euros work, how many assets you can trade, and what's available today. This page compares them feature by feature, including where Crypto.com offers more.

Information about Crypto.com is taken from its official website as of October 2026 and may change; check its current terms before you decide. We focus on the EEA versions of both services.

Key takeaways

  • Crypto.com lists 400+ cryptocurrencies on its EEA site, plus staking and a prepaid Visa card. Quppy supports BTC, ETH, TRX and USDC, with no staking and no card yet.
  • Crypto.com's EUR account accepts SEPA deposits only from bank accounts in your own name. Its help centre says salary and payments from friends, family or customers aren't accepted.
  • Quppy gives eligible users EUR and GBP account functionality, with SEPA Standard, SEPA Instant, Faster Payments and CHAPS routes, and no Quppy fee on supported fiat transfers. Incoming GBP is not currently available.
  • Both use crypto-asset service providers authorised under MiCA by the Malta Financial Services Authority: Foris DAX MT Limited for Crypto.com, and Payhound Limited for Quppy.
  • Quppy cards are coming soon, with a waitlist. Crypto.com's card exists today.

Where Quppy and Crypto.com differ

How your euro account works. Crypto.com's help centre says that, once you set up a EUR account, you get personalised bank transfer details for depositing euros. It also says that only transfers from bank accounts in your name are accepted, and lists payments from friends, family, customers and salary from an employer as not accepted. That suits topping up from your own bank, which is how most people fund crypto purchases. Quppy offers EUR and GBP account functionality with supported SEPA Standard and SEPA Instant operations, and Faster Payments and CHAPS for GBP where enabled. Exact payment directions depend on the account. If receiving money from other people matters to you, check each provider's current rules before you rely on it, including ours. Our guide to crypto-friendly IBANs explains what to look for.

GBP. Quppy supports GBP balances, EUR and GBP exchange, and outgoing GBP routes where enabled, but incoming GBP payments are not currently available. On the EEA side, Crypto.com's help centre describes a EUR account; we haven't compared its UK offering here.

Range of crypto and products. Crypto.com's EEA site lists 400+ cryptocurrencies, staking, and a separate OnChain Wallet that it says is not regulated under MiCA. Quppy is narrower on purpose: BTC on Bitcoin, ETH and USDC on Ethereum, and TRX on TRON. USDT is available only outside the EEA, and SOL and USDC on Solana are coming soon. If you want a broad catalogue or staking rewards, Crypto.com does more. See Quppy's supported assets and networks.

Cards. Crypto.com's EEA card page describes a prepaid card that you top up rather than a debit card linked to your account. It's issued by Foris MT Limited and comes in tiers, some of which involve a subscription or a CRO lock-up. Its card page explains the current tiers. Quppy cards are not live yet. They're coming soon in selected markets, and you can join the waitlist. Quppy also doesn't currently support adding money by bank card.

How costs are shown. Crypto.com says it doesn't charge for EUR deposits via SEPA, though your bank might, and publishes its other fees and limits on its EEA fees page. Quppy charges no transfer fee on supported EUR and GBP fiat transfers. A crypto exchange is priced separately: the quote shows the rate, the amount you'll receive and any costs before you confirm. Quppy doesn't publish a single universal crypto fee, so compare live quotes, not headline numbers.

When Crypto.com may suit you better

  • You want access to a large number of crypto-assets in one app.
  • You want staking or a card you can use today.
  • You plan to fund your account only from your own bank and mainly trade crypto.
  • You want a self-custody wallet from the same brand. Crypto.com offers its OnChain Wallet as a separate product.

When Quppy may suit you better

  • You want a EUR account with SEPA Standard and SEPA Instant, and GBP functionality, in the same app as a crypto wallet.
  • You mainly use BTC, ETH or USDC and want to move between them and EUR or GBP without switching apps.
  • You value seeing exactly which regulated company provides each part of the service. In the EEA, Quppy's crypto services come from Payhound Limited, which you can verify on the official register.

To be clear about the gaps: Quppy has no card yet, no staking, no incoming GBP and no USDT for EEA users. If one of those is essential, Crypto.com or another provider will serve that need better for now.

Switching or using both

You don't have to choose one. If you move crypto between the two, it's a blockchain transfer: match the asset and network on both sides and send a small test first. Our help article on receiving crypto from an external wallet covers the checks. Before you send USDT from Crypto.com to Quppy, check where you live, because Quppy doesn't support USDT for EEA users. FAQ

What is a good Crypto.com alternative in Europe?

That depends on why you're leaving. If you want a EUR and GBP account with SEPA and UK payment routes next to a crypto wallet, Quppy is designed for that. If you want hundreds of coins, staking or a card today, Crypto.com covers more of that than Quppy does right now.

Is Crypto.com authorised under MiCA?

ESMA's interim MiCA register lists Foris DAX MT Limited, trading as Crypto.com, as a crypto-asset service provider authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority, with an authorisation date of 27 January 2025.

Is Quppy authorised under MiCA?

Quppy itself isn't. It is a technology provider. In the EEA, its crypto services are provided by Payhound Limited, a crypto-asset service provider authorised under MiCA by the Malta Financial Services Authority. More in is Quppy MiCA authorised.

Can I receive my salary into Crypto.com's EUR account?

Crypto.com's help centre says no. It lists salary from an employer among third-party transfers that won't be accepted. Only EUR transfers from bank accounts in your own name are accepted.

Does Quppy have a card like Crypto.com?

Not yet. Quppy cards are coming soon for eligible users in selected markets, and you can join the waitlist. Card type, issuer, fees and countries will be published before applications open.

Can I hold USDT in Quppy instead of Crypto.com?

Not if you're in the EEA. USDT isn't available through Quppy there. USDC on Ethereum is supported for eligible EEA users. Outside the EEA, USDT on Ethereum and TRON may be available, depending on your country and provider.
