What is a dedicated GB IBAN?

A dedicated GB IBAN is an account identifier assigned for use by a specific approved business customer under the applicable account arrangement. It may be used for eligible commercial payments or settlement flows, depending on the underlying provider, currencies and payment rails. Not every Quppy Business customer receives a dedicated GB IBAN.

What does “dedicated” mean?

“Dedicated” means the identifier is assigned for use by a specific customer rather than being a general collection reference shared without customer-level allocation. It does not by itself define who legally holds the funds or whether the arrangement is a bank deposit.

What can a dedicated GB IBAN be used for?

Where approved, it may support:

  • commercial receipts from customers or counterparties;
  • acquiring or PSP settlement payouts;
  • marketplace or platform payouts;
  • supplier, contractor or other business-payment flows;
  • identification of the beneficiary in supported payment routes.

The permitted use is stated in the offer and terms. Do not use the details for a payment type that has not been approved.

Which payment rails are connected?

The available rails depend on the underlying account details and provider. A GB IBAN may be used alongside approved GBP or international payment functionality, but it does not automatically enable every Faster Payments, CHAPS or SWIFT direction.

For Quppy Business, only rails expressly stated in the individual offer should be treated as active.

Does every company receive one?

No. Availability depends on the company profile, jurisdiction, payment use case, provider capacity and compliance approval. Some customers may receive different account details or no dedicated GB IBAN.

Can I give the IBAN to an acquirer or marketplace?

Only after confirming that the incoming payment is permitted and that the payer or acquiring provider accepts the beneficiary country, currency and account identifier. Account approval does not guarantee acceptance by every acquirer, PSP or platform.

What should I check before using the details?

Confirm:

  • beneficiary name;
  • supported currency;
  • incoming and outgoing directions;
  • permitted payment purpose;
  • payment rail;
  • reference requirements;
  • provider and applicable terms;
  • whether the payer accepts the details.

FAQ

Does every Quppy Business customer receive a dedicated GB IBAN?

No. It is conditional and must be included in the individual offer.

Is a dedicated GB IBAN a separate bank account?

Not necessarily. It is an account identifier under an underlying arrangement whose legal model is described in the customer documentation.

Does it support Faster Payments?

It may, where the account and payment direction are enabled. Do not assume support unless the offer or interface confirms it.

Can it receive acquiring settlements?

It may receive approved settlements if both Quppy’s provider and the merchant’s acquiring provider accept the flow.

Can I use it for personal payments?

No. Quppy Business account details must be used only for the approved commercial purposes.

Can the IBAN change?

Yes. Account details can change when the provider or service configuration changes. Use only current details.

Who owns the underlying account?

The ownership and legal arrangement are stated in the customer agreement and provider documentation.

What is a virtual IBAN?

A virtual IBAN is an account identifier linked to an underlying account arrangement and used to identify or reconcile incoming payments. It can be assigned to a customer, acquirer, store, website, legal entity, project, country or payment flow. A virtual IBAN does not necessarily constitute a separate bank account, and availability depends on the approved Quppy Business configuration.

How can virtual IBANs help with reconciliation?

Virtual IBANs can help a business reconcile incoming payments by assigning a distinct identifier to an approved acquirer, customer, store, website, entity, project or payment flow. When a payment arrives, the identifier can help the business associate it with the correct source. This can reduce manual matching, but it does not replace accounting controls, contracts or transaction evidence.

Which currencies and payment rails may be available through Quppy Business?

An approved Quppy Business configuration may include EUR, GBP and USD and access to SEPA, SEPA Instant, Faster Payments, SWIFT and ACH. Not every currency, direction or rail is available to every company. The exact account details, incoming and outgoing capabilities, limits, providers, fees and processing conditions are confirmed in the individual customer offer.

Can my business receive merchant settlement payouts through Quppy?

Eligible online and offline merchants may be able to use approved Quppy Business account details to receive settlement payouts from acquiring banks, payment service providers, payment facilitators, marketplaces or card-acquiring platforms. The flow requires Quppy/provider approval and acceptance of the account details by the merchant’s settlement provider. Account approval does not guarantee that every acquirer will accept the proposed details.
